Frequently Asked Questions

What Is ADHD Coaching?

From the Professional Association for ADHD Coaches:

“The ADHD coaching partnership is an appreciative and creative inquiry process that empowers clients to learn about themselves and their unique brain processing so they can make choices and take actions to create the lives they choose to live. The ADHD coach listens with an appreciation and working experience of how ADHD may be impacting the client.

ADHD coaches create a safe, non-judgmental environment, listen with an ADHD understanding, observe what is preventing the client from reaching specific goals, explore ways in which the client can maximize strengths, talents, and passion, and enlist strategies and behaviors congruent with the ADHD client’s learning, processing, and organization styles. ADHD coaches regard their clients as naturally creative, resourceful, and incredible human beings.”

I see ADHD coaching as a space for you to clarify and break down goals; build self-awareness around strengths, challenges, and needs; and decide on your next steps forward. Sometimes sessions focus more on creating an action plan, and sometimes they are more of a time to process in a supportive space – it all depends on what you need most!

Do I Need To Have An ADHD Diagnosis To Do ADHD Coaching?

Nope! Many of my clients do not have a formal ADHD diagnosis. They may be self-diagnosed/ suspect they may have ADHD, or they aren’t sure ADHD would be the right diagnosis for them, but they relate to a lot of the same types of challenges.

How Is Coaching Different Than Therapy?

While coaching and therapy can sometimes look similar, there are some key differences. As a coach, I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. It’s not uncommon for ADHD folx to also have co-existing conditions, and those may come up since we are looking at your life holistically, but we will not delve into them deeply or focus on healing them. Coaching focuses more on personal development and forward action. Working with a therapist and coach at the same time is a great fit for a lot of people.

How Much Does It Cost?

A standard 10-session coaching package is currently $450, with payment plans available. My goal is to make individualized support accessible to as many people as possible while still honoring my own needs, so please ask about sliding scale options if you need them. I am happy to find an arrangement that works for both of us if working together feels like a good fit!

Body-doubling services range from $18-30/hr depending on location (virtual vs in-person), level of hands-on assistance, and total number of hours. Please send me a message or set up a free consultation to discuss your needs.
